Georgia State receives its name as ʺPeach Stateʺ because its producers are proud to cultivate fruits of a higher quality. Also it´s known as ʺEmpire State of the Southʺ. It belongs to the south region. A total of 153.952 kilometers squared is its extension, including water.
Atlanta is the capital of Georgia an Augusta, Columbus, Savannah, Macon and Albany are considered its most important cities. Some Indians are settled down here especially the Cherokee groups and the Creek.
Atlanta, considered a business city and transport hub, currently has the world’s busiest airport, the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, moves about 82 million passengers a year, in addition to the state’s main railroad, it is also the Main railway center of the Southern region of the United States. Atlanta is the global headquarters of The Coca-Cola Company, AT & T Mobility, Delta Air Lines and CNN.
The temperature goes from 10º C below zero, in January to a range of 21º to 33º Celcius degrees in July. It´s the most important productor of peanuts in the nation wich is used to make butter and edible oil. Industry is focused on textiles and clothing.
The parks and historical sites especially, the living history of Georgia museum and the learning center are relevant places of this state. Georgia Day is the holiday which the U.S state of Georgia recognizes in honor of its Colonial founding as the province of Georgia on February 12th, 1733
